Carteret County Youth place in Regional Chicken Project

The 2020 Coastal Plains Chicken Project gave youth the opportunity to learn how to raise chickens while learning showmanship skills and record-keeping requirements. Each year, the project culminates with a show. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the in-person show was canceled this year. In response to the changes, the committee decided to have youth submit showmanship videos, allowing youth to finish their projects.

The top 5 youth in each age group were invited to compete, via Zoom, on Thursday, June 11. Youth were also allowed to submit Project Record Books for competition. Carteret County had winners in both the show and for record books.

Congratulations goes out to all our participants! Your hard work and dedication to the project did not go unnoticed.
