Fun Food Friday!

Come join us for one, two or three Fridays of food fun! Each class is two hours long, hands-on, and ends with tasty samples you make yourself. We’ll use safe, tested recipes and show you how to do things both by hand and with a stand mixer. You’ll leave with new skills, recipes to try at home, and the confidence to make these foods again for family and friends. You do not have to attend all of the sessions but please register for the ones you would like to attend through the Eventbrite links below!

There’s nothing quite like fresh pasta! In this class, you’ll learn how to make pasta dough, roll it out, and cut it into shapes. We’ll show you two ways, by hand and with a stand mixer, so you can pick the method that works best for you. Along the way, you’ll pick up tips for kneading, rolling, and cooking your pasta to perfection.

Ever wondered how cheese is made? It’s easier than you think! In this class, we’ll take you step by step through making fresh mozzarella in only 30 minutes. You’ll learn the science of how milk turns into cheese and practice the stretching and shaping yourself. Mozzarella is a crowd favorite, and you’ll see just how fun (and tasty!) it is to make your own from scratch.

Butter & Biscuits: A Perfect Match

@ Carteret County Center

Registration Here

This class is all about comfort food! We’ll start by making butter two ways, by shaking it up the old-fashioned way in a jar, and by whipping it quickly in a stand mixer. You’ll see how easy it is to add herbs and seasonings for fun flavored butters, too. Then we’ll bake a batch of warm, fluffy buttermilk biscuits using a trusted recipe.

Each class is two hours, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and includes recipes, hands-on learning, and plenty of food tasting. Come ready to learn, laugh, and eat! Each session will take place at the Carteret County Center in the Demonstration Kitchen located in room 320.
