Description: Continued rains, Hurricane Florence, tariffs and depressed commodity prices resulted in continued stress for farmers and rural communities in 2018. Uncertainty and stability or farming operations within North Carolina is common. To help farm families through this difficult time, NC Cooperative Extension is cooperating with North Carolina Farm Bureau’s Hurricane Relief Fund to offer Thinking Outside the Bin: Helping Farm Families Through Hard Times workshops. The purpose of the workshops is to provide farmers with tools to evaluate their farm’s finances, resources to help them navigate their financial well being and to learn techniques to identify and manage stress. Additional resources including individual assistance will be offered to those interested.
Personal consultations, review of finances, free health screenings, farm transition discussion and more will be offered. A complimentary lunch will be provided at the end of the session.
Register by calling the NC Cooperative Extension, Craven County office at 252-633-1477 or email Jami Hooper at: jami_hooper@ncsu.edu
