Check out the carnivorous plants on this short walk in Croatan National Forest with Horticulture Agent, Shawn Banks. The video shows three of the four plants Shawn was looking for. He added a picture taken last year of the Sundew as it will probably will be more apparent on the next trail walk. These plants get some of the nutrients they need by capturing and decomposing insects. All of these can be found right here in Carteret County if you know what environment to look in to find them.

Blue Butterwort, Pinguicula caerulea

Venus Flytrap, Dionaea muscipula

Do Not collect carnivorous plants.To collect carnivorous plants get a permit from NCDA&CS. It may be a felony to do so without a permit.
