So far this season, the Donation Station has set up twice and has already collected 100.75 pounds of fresh produce, with an estimated value of $198.50. All food collected is donated directly to Hope Mission.

Donations have included summer favorites like sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and sweet potatoes: a nice variety of local, fresh, healthy foods! Local farms such as Merrell Farms, Garner Farms, and Harlowe Custom Microgreens have contributed generously alongside market shoppers.

The goal of the program is to reduce food waste, support local growers, and improve food access for the community. Donation Stations are a simple but powerful way to make all of that happen in one place! This cannot be possible without the amazing Donation Station volunteers through the Food Recovery Program!

The Donation Station’s schedule varies but typically occurs once a month during the market season. They will be back and set up at the farmers market on June 21st!
