Carteret County Goes to Camp

Carteret County Youth attend Summer Camp

Summer is an exciting time - the anticipation of longer days, later bedtimes, time with friends and SUMMER CAMP!

North Carolina 4-H offers three camp locations across the state; Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center, located in Reidsville, Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe and Eastern 4-H Center, located in Columbia. The 4-H camp experience allows youth to learn while participating in a number of outdoor and indoor activities, including kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, learning about nature, performing in skits and even perfecting their aim in archery. Campers also develop life skills of communication, teamwork and challenging their comfort zones.

With the help of Carteret County Farm Bureau, six Carteret County youth attended residential summer camp this summer. Camp is a 6-day, 5-night, all inclusive experience for youth ages 8-14. To learn more about North Carolina 4-H's residential camp opportunities, visit the 4-H Camps and Center's page or call the Carteret County 4-H Office at 252.222.6375.
