In the heat of summer when we tend to sweat just stepping outside into the heat and humidity, how do we know when we need to water, fertilize, and mow our lawns?
Shawn Banks, Consumer Horticulture Agent and Certified Turfgrass Professional, will talk to us about when and how much to water our lawns. He will conduct a sprinkler audit with the help of the class, to show participants how to determine how much water is being delivered by their irrigation system. He will discuss the best time to irrigate, how much to apply with each application, and how frequently irrigation is needed for the best growth of the lawn.
He will also discuss the need for fertilizing the lawn, how frequently it should be applied and when not to fertilize the lawn as well as mowing facts that homeowners should be aware of when taking care of their lawn.
If you have questions or concerns, please bring them with you. Shawn will be happy to answer questions during the presentation.
