It’s not too late to plant spring vegetables in the garden. If you have the space, a row of spring garden peas would provide a delicious addition to a salad or they can be cooked as their own side for Sunday dinner. New potatoes are a delicious treat in the spring, but they need to be planted now as well. If you don’t have space for a traditional garden, try planting them in a container. They grow well in a container as long as there is plenty of water in the spring when there are lots of leaves.
Speaking of containers, I’ve found that carrots, leaf lettuce, radishes and beets grow well in containers as well. Growing in containers also makes the harvest a little easier as well. The containers can be placed on benches or tables making them easier to reach.
Stop by your local garden center and see what they have available for your spring garden.
