If you would like to grow a vegetable garden, but aren't sure what to grow or when to plant it, it's time to plant those cool season crops. On February 28, 2026, I planted Sugar Snap peas, some white potatoes, and some cabbage plants to get my vegetable garden started. I made a short video showing how I planted the peas if you are interested in watching it.

Throughout the year, I'll post information about planting different crops at different times. Hopefully this will give you some ideas on what to plant and when.

Other crops you may want to plant right now would include carrots, radishes, cabbage, broccoli, potatoes, and onions. If you want to grow some herbs outside in the garden or in containers, you may want to consider cilantro, parsley, chives, and dill as possible additions to the cool season herb garden.
