In my yard there are a few trees in the back yard that I can see with some dead limbs, not big ones, but still very visible. I have been putting off doing something about them because it was, not that noticeable. I realize now that is not a reason, it’s an excuse. When I can finally get up enough energy to venture out into the yard, I’ll take a closer look at all the trees and shrubs to see what really needs to be pruned out.
It’s the heart of hurricane season. Hopefully, we will not have a storm come our way, but I’m thinking it will be better to have the dead limbs out of the trees and shrubs before a storm hits. Mostly, I’m hoping to not have to clean up the debris from the yard, but also, I don’t want any of those limbs flying through my windows.
Other than removing the dead, damaged and diseased wood from my trees and shrubs, the only other work I can see that needs to be done is removing dead flowers and seed heads from the butterfly bush, hydrangea and a few others. Some of these flower heads can be hung upside down and allowed to dry in the garage. My wife is pretty good with flower arranging and she might have some use for them during the winter.
