Carteret County 4-H offers Club Opportunities to Youth

4‑H is a community for all kids with programs that suit a variety of backgrounds, interests, budgets and schedules. Whether at home, in-school or after-school, in clubs or at camps, 4‑H’s positive youth development programs are available in your local community and welcome children who want to have fun, learn and grow.

4‑H clubs follow a planned program and offer learning opportunities for youth that are self-directed. Clubs can meet in a variety of locations, including virtually, and typically meet in the evenings and on the weekends.

Carteret County offers clubs to youth that develop life skills in a learning environment that is under the direction of trained 4-H volunteers. For more information on club, contact our local 4-H office at 252-222-6375.

Impact 4-H Club is a homeschool club for active and driven 4-H’ers. They meet monthly for a business meeting and also to work on Citizenship, Community Service and Leadership together. Members of Impact 4-H Club are required to complete at least one Project Record Book each year and must be active in the majority of our activities.

Croatan Horse Club focuses on horses, horse showing and equine husbandry. Youth wishing to learn more about or participate in Croatan Horse Club should contact the extension office to be put in contact with the club leader to schedule a meeting time.

Representatives from Carteret County clubs, Member-at-Large members and parents are invited to attend Carteret County 4-H Council. Each meeting starts with a brief business meeting to update 4-H’ers and their families on upcoming opportunities, events and service projects. Activities are typically done at the end of the meeting. Carteret County 4-H Council provides leadership and citizenship opportunities and youth are encouraged to serve on the Board of Officers when they are ready to expand their leadership skills.

Maritime Explorer 4-H Club youth enjoy learning about all the maritime opportunities around them, including kayaking, sailing, fishing and camping. This club includes both boys and girls, ages 10 and up.

Please monitor our monthly newsletter or call the 4-H office for new club information.
