Coastal Plains Chicken Project

  • Registration is CLOSED for 2025.
  • First time participants must attend an orientation on Tuesday, January 14 at 6 p.m. An email will be sent to all participants with Zoom information.
  • Families will receive layer chicks in early February and broiler chickens mid-March.
  • The Coastal Plains Chicken Show will be held on May 8, 2025.
  • After the show, layers may be kept by families or sold. Broilers will be returned to Extension staff.

Re-enroll for 2025

  • Youth, ages 5-18 as on January 1, 2025, are welcome to join 4-H.
  • Youth who are re-enrolling should have received an email from 4-H Online about the re-enrollment process. You can also reach out to coleman_killinger@ncsu.edu for a copy of the instructions.
  • New youth should go to v2.4honline.com to create family profile and enroll. For help with this process, please reach out to coleman_killinger@ncsu.edu.
  • Only registered members will receive email updates from the 4-H Online.

Southeast District Winter Fling

  • Saturday, January 18; 10-2 p.m. in Onslow County
  • Youth ages 12-18 are invited to attend.
  • Email coleman_killinger@ncsu.edu for more information and/or to register.

Project Record Book Work Session

  • *Notice Time Change* January 21 at 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. at the 4-H Office, 3rd floor of CMAST, 303 College Circle, Morehead City.
  • For youth who are new to Project Record Books and want to learn more AND for those who have submitted books previously.
  • Bring a list of 4-H activities you completed in 2024 if you want help organizing your book.

Carteret County Canine 4-H Club Meeting

  • January 21 at 4 p.m. at Sound Dog Training Center, Newport
  • Youth do not have to own a dog to attend the meetings.
