This year we are privileged to have Bryce Lane speaking to us about Sustainability in the Backyard Garden.
The Extension Master GardenerSM Volunteers of Carteret County will hold their annual speaker event on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, featuring renowned horticulturist Bryce Lane.
The highly anticipated event will take place at the Crystal Coast Civic Center on the campus of Carteret Community College. Lane, the retired NC State Horticultural Department Chair and Adjunct Faculty Member, will deliver a presentation on: Sustainability in the Backyard Garden: how gardeners can design landscapes that support wildlife, pollinators, soil health, and ecological balance.
He now spends his time giving horticulture talks, leadership and communication training, and teaching part-time at NC State University and the JC Raulston Arboretum. He has also worked closely with North Carolina Coopeerative Extension and the NC Nursery and Landscape Association for many years. Lane is now featured as the host of Logan’s Garden Shop Podcast.
His expertise is widely accessible. He is the host and producer of the three-time Emmy-winning UNC TV public television show, “In the Garden With Bryce Lane,” available at https://www.pbs.org/show/garden. He is also the host of the Logan’s Garden Shop Podcast, which can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Come early to get a good seat, as our speaker is in great demand, and we expect many gardening enthusiasts and from surrounding counties to attend.
