“Greening Your Space: Using Native Plants for Container Gardening”Webinar

Container gardening is a fun and economical way to add beauty to any space. This workshop explores easy ways to use native plants instead of the go-to annuals normally planted in container gardens.
The Coastal Landscapes Initiative and its partners have identified container-friendly native plants that support pollinators and other wildlife in all parts of their life cycle. Join the CLI team for a free 1-hour webinar on how to use these plants to create aesthetically pleasing container gardens, in private and public spaces. Contributors to this project include the North Carolina Aquariums, Coastal Roots Garden Design, N.C.Cooperative Extension county offices, the N.C. Native Plant Society, Town of Beaufort Garden Club, and North Carolina Sea Grant.
Presenters will include: Carol Peoples of the Central Coastal Plain Chapter of the North Carolina Native Plant Society, Rachel Veal of the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Emilee Morrison of Onslow County Cooperative Extension, KathyMitchell of Coastal Roots Garden Design, Monica Hunter of the Beaufort Garden Club, and Gloria Putnam of North Carolina Sea Grant. ProfessionalDevelopment Credits are available:
- NC Environmental Educator Program (Environmental Education Certification credits under Criteria III or continuing education)
- NC Extension Master Gardener (information at local Cooperative Extension County Offices)
